Strengthening Academic Collaboration Between Taiwan and the Global Research Community Through International Exhibitions

To promote the Belmont Forum, highlight Taiwan’s participation in its Collaborative Research Actions (CRAs), and outline future directions, while also engaging with scholars and international research organizations, the Belmont Forum Program Office (BFPO) participated in the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting for two consecutive years, in 2023 and 2024.

At AGU24, the exhibition’s main visual placed Taiwan at the center, showcasing global partnership linkages across the seven Belmont Forum CRAs in which Taiwan is involved. The booth design incorporated distinctive Taiwanese cultural elements, successfully drawing attention from attendees and enhancing the international visibility of Taiwan’s Belmont Forum initiatives.
This participation not only demonstrated Taiwan’s research capabilities but also underscored the appeal of the Belmont Forum’s cross-national and cross-disciplinary collaborations. It reflected the Taiwanese academic community’s active pursuit of global cooperation opportunities.
Moving forward, the
BFPO will continue to exhibit at AGU, deepening international academic exchanges, expanding opportunities for cross-border partnerships, and further strengthening Taiwan’s influence and connections in the global academic arena.
